Census of sociodemographic data
La Anti-Racism Act 2017 requires that, beginning January 1, 2023, Ontario school boards conduct a census of student sociodemographic data in all of their schools. In order to respect this obligation, the collective of 12 French-language school boards in Ontario and the Consortium Center Jules-Léger (CCJL) conducted a census of socio-demographic data with the aim of obtaining relevant information that can be used to helping boards eliminate systemic racism and advance racial equity.
The socio-demographic data census has been conducted across the Conseil scolaire catholique des Grandes Rivières since the 2021-2022 school year. It targets parents of students in kindergarten to grade 8, students in grades 9 to 12, and the workforce.
We thank the students, parents and staff members who took the time to participate in this census.
