Other relevant organizations
The Provincial Office of Education of the Catholic Faith of Ontario (OPÉCO) is an organization of the Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops. OPÉCO is at the service of the Franco-Ontarian Church. It offers guidance to bishops concerning, among other things, the framework programs and the various teaching programs, initiation into the sacraments and the growth of adults in the faith. In addition, by facilitating the consultation of the various stakeholders, the OPÉCO allows the presence and active participation of the bishops in the various challenges posed to the world of education of the faith in Catholic schools and parishes.
The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops ensures, among others:
- the regulation of certain pastoral questions;
- the transmission of the teachings of the Church, adapted to the situation of Catholics who live in the territory where the conference is located;
- the coordination of apostolic and charitable initiatives in many dioceses.
