Ontario, April 28, 2023 — To celebrate its 25th anniversary, L'École catholique organized the Smiles Challenge: a very original contest
which has sparkled more than 3 creative smiles in its schools over the past few weeks! This great contribution
testifies to the joy, the excitement and the feeling of well-being present in more than 300 schools of the eight Catholic school boards
French-speaking Ontario.

Timmins, March 29, 2023 – The trustees of the Catholic School Board of
district of Grandes Rivières wish to inform parents, staff, parishes and students
the well-deserved retirement of the director of education and secretary-treasurer,
Mrs. Sylvie Petroski on December 31, 2023.
“We would like to thank Ms. Petroski for her significant contributions to educational success
CSCDGR students during his 33 years of service. His leadership and dedication have been
source of inspiration for many members of staff and for the school community.
A committed and engaging Francophone Catholic educator, Ms. Petroski worked tirelessly
to support the development of the faith, language and culture of all students in the
CSCDGR in partnership with their families and local parishes. His style of leadership
collaborative and dynamic has inspired his team with a commitment to excellence and has
received the attention and admiration of his peers across the province," said Mr. Roger

The Catholic School Celebrates 25 Years of Smiles

Ontario. March 20, 2023 — Ontario's eight French-language Catholic school boards and the
Franco-Ontarian Association of Catholic School Boards (AFOCSC) are celebrating
their 25th anniversary this year! To mark this important milestone, The Catholic School has
prepared various activities for students and staff, including a highly original competition that
will bring out the beautiful smiles of its school community, which is at the heart of these
celebrations: 25 years of smiles!

Today, Ontario's French-language Catholic school boards have more than 77,000 students,
employ over 11,200 staff members, and include some 300 schools in which more than
180 childcare services operate.

“Catholic Francophones have now had the management of their very own schools for 25 years,
since our School Board – the Grandes Rivières Catholic District School Board – as well
as the seven other French-language Catholic School Boards of Ontario were created in 1998.”
proudly explains Roger Grégoire, Chair of the Conseil scolaire catholique de district des Grandes
Rivers (CSCDGR). “Therefore, the Catholic School has been working hard to ensure a flourishing
French-language Catholic education in Ontario with a constant momentum for 25 years.

Timmins, February 9, 2023 – A renovation project is underway for the Catholic School
Jacques Cartier of Timmins. The renovations will include:

- The creation of a new landing stage for parents and buses;
- The addition of a new elevator;
- Beautification by painting of the corridors and the gymnasium;
- A change of windows;
- The installation of a security system equipped with numerous cameras;
- A complete renovation of the secretariat;
- An invigorating touch-up of the exterior facing, which will be redone
