Census of sociodemographic data

La Anti-Racism Act 2017 requires that, beginning January 1, 2023, Ontario school boards conduct a census of student sociodemographic data in all of their schools. In order to respect this obligation, the collective of 12 French-language school boards in Ontario and the Consortium Center Jules-Léger (CCJL) conducted a census of socio-demographic data with the aim of obtaining relevant information that can be used to helping boards eliminate systemic racism and advance racial equity.

The census of sociodemographic data has been conducted at the level of the Grandes Rivières Catholic District School Board since the 2021-2022 school year. It targets parents of students in grades K-8, students in grades 9-12, and the workforce.

We thank the students, parents and staff members who took the time to participate in this census.
