Why choose a French-language Catholic school
French-language Catholic education provides students with an inclusive environment that fosters lasting bilingualism. It allows them to develop their ability to communicate in French and to develop a sense of belonging to the Catholic faith. It is an unparalleled opportunity to take part in a dynamic culture.
The mandate of the Council is to plan, organize and offer structured situations that promote the learning of the French language and the construction of the French-speaking Catholic identity.
If you have any questions or need assistance with online registration, please contact cscdgr@cscdgr.education.
Admission criteria
Place of residence
The student must reside within the school's attendance sector.
Religion
In secondary school, enrollment in a Catholic school is possible even if a public school is located on the territory. However, the Catholic nature of the school must be recognized and accepted. In addition, students are expected to participate in the school's pastoral activities as well as in the religious education courses required to obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

Languages
According to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, you have the right to enroll your child in a French-language school if you are either:
- a parent, a Canadian citizen, whose first language learned and still understood is French;
- a parent, a Canadian citizen, who received his primary education in a French-language school in Canada; OR
- a parent, a Canadian citizen, whose child has received or is receiving his or her primary or secondary education in a French-language school.
That said, the Ontario Education Act allows any parent or guardian to apply for admission. This is a simple process that involves a meeting between the administration and the family.
Our mandate is made up of five dimensions:
- Student learning and the development of transferable skills
- Identity construction
- Transmission of the French language and Francophone culture
- The development of Christian spirituality and faith
- Leadership development among support staff and promotion of individual and collective commitment
